A hot August?

In February 2001 senior British National Party officers and activists from the North West gathered in Oldham for a regional conference. The local organiser greeted them with the words “welcome to Oldham, the front line of the race war”.

The words were ominous. By May Oldham was burning after racist provocations and attacks drove a des-pairing Asian community onto the streets to defend itself. Two months later Bradford was ablaze. The scenario was the same: goad and abuse people in the streets, in their homes and shops, and sooner or later they will defend themselves.

Those arrested from the local Asian community were treated harshly and with some haste. Despite the firm evidence of involvement of the BNP and other nazis, racists and football thugs, justice was dealt out to them much later. The convictions upheld what we had been saying all along: a conspiracy involving disparate sections of the far right but led mostly by known BNP activists, who had helped plan and orchestrate the “race war”.

Despite continued pronouncements from Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, about a coming “civil war” (race war), the authorities have been looking in only one direction for terrorist threats. Until last year they failed to wake up to the ample evidence of far-right efforts to set this country ablaze this summer, unchanged by the BNP’s European success.

The BNP’s declared enemies, Muslim communities, are the target. And the BNP has had a growing influence on other far-right extremists who want a war in our streets against not only Muslims but anyone of Asian origin.

Many of those responding to the call of several different groups looking for a fight with Islam are unaware of who is jerking their strings. Unless the Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) intervene directly, there is a danger of serious violence spreading across the country this month and beyond.

The accompanying diagram focuses on some of the key groups and players to whom officers of the BNP are offering political and physical assistance. The BNP will not be able to wriggle off the hook, but action after the event is not good enough; prevention is needed.

Two outbreaks of violence in Luton earlier this year wrong-footed the police. The situation was not helped by the failure of the local council to ask for Home Office intervention. As a result the police have stepped up infiltration and disruption of some of the key groups.

The far right were looking for a catalyst for action and found it on 10 March as troops from the Royal Anglian Regiment, known as “The “Poachers”, were to be welcomed home from Afghanistan with a parade through the streets of Luton.

Eight members of a Muslim extremist group, already disowned by the local Muslim community and told to stay away from the Luton mosque, put on an appalling display of hatred towards the troops, calling them child killers and butchers.

It would have been no problem for the large number of police stewarding the local people who had turned out to greet the troops to arrest these fanatics for race hate offences. Instead two people ended up being assaulted by the angry crowd. Only one was one of the Islamists – a former local leader of the fanatical al-Muhajiroun group. The other victim was the former mayor of Luton, a Sikh who was there to greet the troops.

Paul Ray, a Dunstable-based Islamophobe who blogs under the name “Lionheart”, applied for local authority permission to stage a St George’s day parade but was turned down. However he had already attracted the attention of the BNP and a series of anti-Islam groups including the United British Alliance (UBA) and March for England (MFE), both of which had been visible outside the notorious Finsbury Park mosque when Abu Hamza, the terrorist-linked extremist preacher and his followers had seized control.

After Abu Hamza was expelled from the building, he would preach hate to his followers in the street every Friday, until he was imprisoned in May 2004, and the UBA and MFE would turn up to jeer. These encounters were overwhelmingly non-violent, except when the National Front (NF) turned up and were driven away by the UBA and MFE.

The UBA and MFE appeared to draw large numbers of young men including some black people and even a couple of Jewish football supporters from Surrey. Many were former soldiers and former football hooligans. They were frighten-ingly disciplined. Hundreds marched to the Regents Park mosque in that period.

While these largely overlapping groups have kept up an internet presence, it was not until the events of 10 March in Luton that they suddenly reappeared on the streets.

Denied the opportunity to heat things up in the name of St George, Ray was attracting interest from Chris Renton, a BNP activist from Weston-super-Mare, and several other BNP activists from around the country including Marlene Guest from Rotherham, whose main claim to fame is her statement in Sky TV’s BNP Wives programme that some good had come out of the Holocaust in the form of dentistry and plastic surgery.

Tom Holmes, the NF leader, called on his troops to turn out against Islam at the earliest opportunity, which came on Easter Monday, 13 April, when the police decided to stop the progress of an anti-Islam demonstration in Luton.

The police struggled with a large crowd and even the use of horses did not disperse them. They included familiar faces from the pro-nazi football crews from the time when the nazi terror group Combat 18 was active in the 1990s. Only when police reinforcements from London arrived were they able to disperse the demonstrators.

Separate from the MFE and UBA are the English and Welsh Defence League (EWDL) and Casuals United, run by the Welsh football hooligan Jeff Marsh. They all used to work together until recently when Ray turned against Dave Smeeton, leader of the MFE.

On 24 May the EWDL produced a bigger turnout with football hooligan support for a march that had been given the green light by Luton Council and the Bedfordshire Police. The result was a disgrace as Islamophobes, hooligans and fascists broke away from the local marchers and tried to storm the Muslim area of Luton. Shops and cars were damaged and 150 young Muslims prepared to fight to safeguard their homes and families. It was beginning ominously to look like the fascists were achieving their aim of a repeat of the Oldham and Bradford riots.

In the run-up to 24 May Luton mosque had been the target of an arson attack.

At this point these various groups decided to spread their message of hate to other parts of the country.

Now there were signs that police infiltration was succeeding. A call to march through central London evaporated after intelligence was passed to the Metropolitan Police anti-terrorist command SO15. Then a mysterious figure called Dave Shaw called for EWDL supporters to gather at a Wetherspoon’s pub near Trafalgar Square on 27 June to go on to an activity outside the East London mosque in Whitechapel. Only a few turned up to be greeted by a large police presence and no sign of Shaw.

The EWDL began to realise it was a police sting operation and most of them decided to go drinking in Convent Garden instead. The police told the rest they could go to Whitechapel but only with a massive escort. Reports suggest that only eight to ten made it and were filmed, photographed, shoved around and told to behave on the tube journey.

The following weekend, on 4 July, the EWDL picketed a “Life under the Shari’ah” Islamic road show in Wood Green, north London, organised by the Islamist extremist Anjem Choudary, to find the police clamping down on both them and the Islamists.

On the same day the EWDL staged a voluble protest in Birmingham’s Bull Ring “against muslim extremists that interrupted a British soldier’s funeral”. Again prompt police action prevented any real trouble.

One of the nazis present was Mike Heaton, “Wigan Mike”, the violent leader of the small but crazy British Freedom Fighters, not deterred by being charged with racial hatred after his arrest outside the BNP victory rally in Blackpool in June.

The Islamophobes intend to return to Birmingham for a “march against sharia law” on 8 August. The date was fixed for before the start of the Midlands football season. Luton Town plays its first match on that day but the demonstration starts at 6pm, giving fans plenty of time to get there.

Interest in going to Birmingham may be growing. One Luton Town supporter noted that the EWDL had recently changed its booking from a 25-seat to a 52-seat bus. One nazi noted how it was the eighth day of the eighth month which, for nazis, translates as the eighth letter of the alphabet: “HH” or “Heil Hitler”.

Three whites from the extreme left in Birmingham have tried to recruit and incite Muslim teenagers to respond by taking to the streets with racially abusive language and slogans. Perhaps two political extremes are seeking confrontation in the city.

Now Martyn Page, the Hitler-saluting treasurer of the BNP’s Broxtowe group, is organising forces intent on setting the country ablaze, offering to bring in some heavy lads from his area. The target is Luton and the date is 30 August.

BNP are 'Nazi thugs' - Cameron

David Cameron has launched a scathing attack on the British National Party, calling them "Nazi thugs" and a "bunch of fascists".

The Tory leader admitted that many people will be angry at the main two parties over the MPs' expenses scandal, but urged them not to react by voting for the BNP.

Fielding questions from the public at an agricultural show, he said: "If you vote for the BNP you are voting for a bunch of fascists who want to divide this country over the issues of race and the colour of skin."

His response turned to anger when a member of the audience at the Bath and West Show in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, argued that the BNP "have a point when it comes to immigration". Cameron told him: "Go and have a look at what the BNP have said. Do not be naive about what these people stand for. They dress up in a suit and knock on your door in a nice way but they are still Nazi thugs".

He told the audience: "There is a proper national debate that we should have about immigration. I want us to limit the number of people coming to Britain, but do not believe that the way to beat the BNP is to half agree with them. These people are not pleasant people."

Police investigate 'racist rally'

Allegations of the chanting of racist slogans at a "scooter rally" in North Somerset are to be investigated by Avon and Somerset Police.

A video of the event at the Bungalow Inn, Redhill, on Saturday night shows some people wearing Nazi regalia.

Chants including "seig heil, seig heil" can also be heard later on the tape.

Both the licensee and manager deny seeing any Nazi regalia or hearing racist chanting. Both deny supporting Nazi politics.

'Good faith'

The police spokesman said that they take any reported hate crime very seriously and would be working with the local authority licensing department about the approval of the event.

The pub said the booking was made in good faith for what they believed to be a scooter rally for 500 people.

It is estimated that more than 800 turned up on Saturday night.

It is believed many people at the event had travelled from Europe. Some had Nazi flags draped over their shoulders and were seen in the video laughing and joking.

A family that lived nearby were so frightened they left their home.

Sarah Gooding said: "My daughter was petrified. We ran into the house and I burst into tears.

"I told my husband 'I don't feel safe we've got to go'. Our daughters were really really frightened.

Licensee Anne Carter said: "It was something we were totally unaware of and not happy to think it was happening on any part of our premises.

"Anything the police want to do we'll support them in anyway we can."

Some facts about Bradford BNP fascist James Lewthwaite:

1) He was exposed by the Telegraph & Argus newspaper as the publisher of books glorifying Hitler and Nazi Germany. He ran a publishing company Shelf Books Ltd, specialising in Nazi literature from his home in Ascot Drive, Horton Bank Top.

Shelf Books uses a Coventry-based company with unashamedly Nazi sympathies as its main distributor. UFC, which lists only a post office box as its contact address, boasts on its website: "We have literally scoured the world to find you what we believe is the world's most comprehensive listing of books on National Socialism and Fascism". The company's trademark resembles a Nazi swastika.

UFC says its books are "free from the usually offensive propaganda smears of the established print houses." As well as distributing Shelf Books titles, it offers CDs described as "the world's most comprehensive collection of period recordings from National Socialist Germany and Fascist Italy."

Also on offer are full-sized polyester Nazi flags emblazoned with a swastika. "Suitable for flying, wall drapes and as a stunning backdrop to your collection," says its website.

Other products for sale include hand painted porcelain statues of Adolf Hitler giving a Nazi salute.

Lewthwaite published titles such as Nordic Warriors, Breaking the Chains and SS-Flak. Nordic Warriors profiles the "dedicated fighters for Hitler's New European Order, whose last days were spent battling to defend the Fuhrer".

Iron Horsemen, an account of the latter stages of the Battle of Stalingrad priced at £12, offers a free Third Reich Panzer Music CD worth £12.99.

Estonian Vikings is described as "a brief tribute to the soldiers of Battalion Narwa".

Publicity blurb on Shelf Books' website says the accompanying photographs "give a good impression of the calibre of soldiers that manned SS-Panzergrenadier Battalion Narwa as they fought for the freedom of their Baltic homeland and for the cause of European civilisation."

2) After his election it was six months before James Lewthwaite got up to say anything in a council meeting and then he spoke on a motion that had already been dealt with.

3) As leader of Bradford BNP, James Lewthwaite was voted out of office by local voters.

Jobless Nazi liar stirs trouble in Redhill

Peter "Sid" Williamson, the well-known work-avoider, drunk and activities organiser of the British People's Party has been in Redhill, Surrey, today looking for trouble with the town's Moslems, who held a celebratory parade in honour of the Prophet Mohammed's birthday.

Spotting a small item in the Surrey Mirror giving notice of the parade, Williamson made a Stormfront post which worked up an inoffensive religious celebration into an anti-Christian demonstration by fundamentalist Moslems.

In a post titled Exclusive! Muslims to demonstrate against Easter in Redhill Surrey! Williamson wrote: "It would appear that the Christian celebration of Easter this year is clashing with the birthday of Muslim prophet Mohamed. Because of this one of the UK's most fundamentalist Mosques have organised a demonstration which is due to take place this Sunday, (March 23rd), in Redhill Surrey."

Williamson claims to have telephoned the Mosque, and gives the impression - without ever stating it as a fact - that the alleged anti-Christian nature of the parade was confirmed to him.

Yesterday (Saturday) Williamson started another Stormfront thread, Calling London / South East!, saying: "I know its short notice, but a few of us are getting together tomorrow. There is a reason for this, so if any of you would like to get out and about tomorrow please PM me."

As if it wasn't obvious what the Sofasoaker was planning.

The call to arms went largely unheeded (much as Williamson's call for fellow Nazis to demonstrate at last year's Brighton Pride went unheeded - even by Brighton Nazis), the Stormfront Nazis reeling off their excuses for non-attendance, leaving Sid to plead that "we need to stand up and be counted".

It seems that the BPP in all its miniscule glory did find its way to Redhill, as the photograph we've filched from Stormfront shows.

Let's see... there's Sid, a curiously dark-skinned woman, and whoever took the photograph. That's three who stood up to be counted so far.

In all probability the passing Moslems supposedly baying for Christian blood thought that Sid and his cohort (sic) were waiting for a bus, if they noticed the work-shy Chav at all.

After we first set up right outside the park where the Muslims were gathering, we were moved away by the police to a "designated area" about half a mile away. There was only a handful of us but we were well received by passers by, who were often sounding their car horns and waving in support. As the Muslims approached the police warned us that they could not guarantee our safety as there was around 500 Muslims approaching. It didn't deter us at all, and we continued our silent vigil until all the Muslims had gone.

Extremists target youth

EXTREME right wing political group the National Front has set up a youth group in Chippenham, despite huge opposition from schools and parents.

The group, whose conditions of membership include no homosexuals, must be of white parentage and partners must also be white', has already held two meetings in the town.

At the latest meeting on February 16, more than 25 youngsters from the age of 14 attended and awards were handed out to individuals for their work for the organisation.

When the Gazette broke the news of the National Front's arrival in Chippenham in September, schools were outraged that the party intended to hand out leaflets at the gates to attract young members.

Gerard MacMahon, head teacher at Sheldon School, said: "I am confident that our pupils would not have any involvement with an organisation which is involved in the stirring or spreading of hate.

"At the school we would have nothing to do with an organisation like that - Sheldon will have nothing to do with them.

"As an immigrant myself, I am not at all interested in what they have got to say."

News that the party has managed to establish a youth group in town has come as a shock to many. Mum-of-two teenagers Emma Fitzwarren, 44, of Eastern Avenue said: "I think it is totally disgusting they have infiltrated the town - why have people even given them the time of day?

"I have warned my children about getting involved with the racists and I know they would never be sucked into it.

"I am now just concerned about other children. They might feel pressured to join and that could lead to horrendous consequences. I plead with all parents to make sure their children are not involved."

A spokesman for Wiltshire College said: "We are an inclusive organisation and we would be very concerned about any association with groups who do not share our values, particularly those who would seek to discriminate against groups or individuals."

Steve Reynolds, executive member of the National Front, said: "Many issues arose, one on their safety and their fears of being attacked by others. Some expressed concern for their elderly relatives, claiming they had been failed by the system and others in the community. We also touched on the closure of Lacock Post Office."

Six Million Dead "just another atrocity" - BNP's mask slips

Some readers of this blog will know that I was a member of the British National Party from its formation until the late 1990s, and that before then I had been a member of the National Front.

Eventually I came to renounce my racist and fascist opinions and joined the fight to expose and combat latter day Nazism, especially that of the BNP.

Soon there will be a post here telling of my journey from darkness to light.

One thing was de rigueur in the British National Party during my time, and that was a flat denial that the Nazi extermination of six million Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and others ever took place.

Why?

Because the BNP, like other organisations worldwide calling themselves "nationalist", were so closely associated with Nazism (and rightly so) in the public mind that it was necessary to "cleanse" the history of Nazi Germany.

The largest piece of dirt to scrub away was the Holocaust, and the BNP set to work trying to convince the public that this most horrific of events had never happened.

One leading denier of the Holocaust was the BNP's current leader, Nick Griffin.

In 1998, before becoming BNP leader, Griffin wrote:

"I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that 6 million Jews were gassed and cremated or turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the earth is flat... I have reached the conclusion that the 'extermination' tale is a mixture of Allied wartime propaganda, extremely profitable lie, and latter day witch-hysteria."

So there's no doubt at all what Griffin believed and had believed for years.

He wasn't alone, and it wasn't difficult to be at any BNP gathering when the latest piece of Holocaust denial "evidence" was announced and then discussed into the ground.

But the BNP Holocaust deniers were always in a split mind. On the one hand they denied the Holocaust, but wouldn't have minded at all if it was true.

That's because most of them knew it was true, and quietly approved.

You see they had to deny the Holocaust to make nationalism "respectable", and nationalism had to be made respectable for the BNP to achieve power, and once in power - believe you me - the BNP wouldn't be able to get its own British versions of Auschwitz built quickly enough.

When the BNP's vote began to rise and the party started to win local council seats the question of Holocaust denial became awkward and embarrassing, especially as some BNP councillors openly denied while others floundered hopelessly when put under media inquisition.

Nick Griffin, a man who has done so many u-turns on policy throughout his career on the far Right that he's virtually a walking Spaghetti Junction, then decided that the Holocaust did not happen.

He's never explained why, probably because the day will come when he needs to revert to type. Nobody should underestimate Griffin's eye for the main chance. He wants his highly paid seat in the European parliament (more because it's highly paid than of any use to the BNP) and he doesn't want to put his financial future at risk by sitting in front of the news cameras explaining away the far Right's crankiest dogma to a disbelieving audience.

Thankfully, Jewish organisations and BNP watchers have never believed that Griffin's about turn was anything more than a sprat to catch a mackerel. His followers on the Nazi Stormfront website openly debate whether the political acrobat's change of mind is real or feigned, the hope being that it's feigned.

I think I know which it is.

Unable to openly deny the Holocaust, the BNP has to settle for the next best thing: belittling it.

So when the government announced this morning (Monday) that every school in the country would send two pupils to Auschwitz to learn about and keep alive memories of the Holocaust, the barely supressed Jew-hating side of the BNP couldn't wait to rush out an article designed solely to minimise the sheer scale and importance of the deaths of those six million human beings.

Further to elevate just one of the many atrocities Man has inflicted on Man is in itself discriminatory and racist. Emphasis on the lessons to be learned from the horrors of the 1940s concentrates one peoples’ suffering and implies that only Europeans can be guilty of such atrocities. It is racist because it minimises or completely omits from the school curriculum the lessons to be learned from the massacres of Christians in Armenia, the butchering of Serbs in Kosovo, the slaying of Christians (including many of our own forebears) at the hands of Islamic pirates as well as the ongoing ethnic conflicts in Rwanda, Sudan and Burma.

You get the picture?

Back in my BNP days I couldn't have put it better myself. Seething that I can't deny the Holocaust I reduce it to "just one of the many atrocities Man has inflicted on Man" and go on to hit my favourite targets (or second favourites, since the Jews are now off limits), the Muslims, then get in a dig at Africans and Asians.

Somebody at the BNP (Griffin?) worked out that was how others would see it, too, and the article was removed without ceremony. All that remains of it is the snippet published above.

So don't be under any illusions about the BNP. In its poisonous heart it still believes the Jews are its greatest enemy, and now and again, as today, the mask slips.

The BNP is still Nazi and still obsessed with Jews. Never believe otherwise.

This recently shot DVD reveals the true nature of the BNP - in their own words. It shows them behind closed doors when they think the public are not watching. It proves that they are still nazis.

The sign on the door says No Blacks. Inside, BNP members sing racist and pro-Nazi songs. They glorify the Holocaust, and call for blacks to be killed. They give nazi salutes as they chant the names of Hitler's henchmen.

This is the real face of the BNP -- the one that they try to hide from voters.

One of the people giving a Nazi salute is Scott McLean, the deputy leader of the BNP. Others include BNP organisers and minders for party leader Nick Griffin.

The BNP say they have changed. This DVD proves they are the same Nazis they always were.
